The property, historically known as one of the most fertile feuds of Central Sicily, boasts an excellent geographical position, between the hills to the outposts of Madonie mountain range, ensuring cold winters and strong temperature range in summer, following a more continental climate than mediterranean, with more-than-perfect conditions for grape ripening. The first pilot plant for Cabernet Sauvignon goes back to 1979, while the first rows for production were put into field in 1985. The idea of including the bordelaise grape in the production plans, not yet allowed at that time in the product regulations, derived from a prophetic intuition of Count Lucio Tasca, that opted for a production system of 3000 and 4000 plants with double guyot pruning, in accordance with the typical style of the French, to specifically meet the complex needs of the variety.
