Barolo 'Monvigliero' Fratelli Alessandria 2018

Fratelli Alessandria's Barolo "Monvigliero" is a cru of the appellation, as well as the one historically recognized as the most prestigious in the area of Verduno. Certainly one of the most representative of the entire Barolo area.

The Nebbiolo vines have an average age of more than 40 years and are trained using the Guyot method on a calcareous soil type tending to loamy, with a characteristic sparkling white color; the work is as respectful as possible toward the environment and the healthiness of the grapes themselves. The hillside opens up in the shape of an amphitheater and the exposure is excellent, South/Southwest, with a significant altitude: 250-310 meters above sea level. Spontaneous fermentation takes place in steel tanks for 20-25 days. Aging involves three stages: 36 months in Slavonian oak barrels, 2 months in steel and at least 6 months in bottle.

Barolo "Monvigliero" is dressed in a luminous garnet red. The nose reveals an aromatic bouquet that becomes increasingly intriguing, fascinating and expressive over time. The bouquet comprises notes of ripe black cherries, dried leaves, leather and licorice. The palate is deep and austere, with a noble character. Of great finesse, it grazes the palate vigorously but not stressfully, with a rich tannic texture and a long, lingering finish. A representative, sensational and memorable Barolo.
