Custoza Superiore 'Amedeo' Cavalchina 2015

In 1866, during the Third War of Independence, the Prince Amedeo of Savoy was wounded in a vineyard now owned by Cavalchina. The name derives from this fact, as noted by the stone slate at the entrance of the cellar. The Custoza Superiore "Amedeo" is the flagship wine of the winery Cavalchina. The company is located in the extreme South-East of the Lake Garda, the land registry Hapsburg in 1848 already shows the existence of a large number of vineyards classified, that founded in this moraine terroir the right habitat. In 1962 The Farm Cavalchina was the first to call Custoza the white wine from the area, obtained from grapes of Fernanda, Trebbiano and Garganega, determining the success of this wine thanks to the spread in the markets of Rome and Milan. From intact grapes to the cellar, you get an intense aromatic extraction that develops important in refining mineral notes. The experience of harvesting grapes in the cellar of a different nature and ripening period is detected by the different vinification for the grapes that make the Custoza Superiore. Trebbianello and Trebbiano grapes are aged in barrels, due to their neutrality and structure, the Garganega from the slender body but with strong personality is fermented and matured in oak casks of 15/20 hl. While the semi-aromatic Fernanda is vinified in stainless steel to preserve all its qualities. The result of this is a skillful blending wine from keeping qualities above.
