The Syrah "Il Bosco" by Tenimenti Luigi d'Alessandro is one of those wines that have made the history of Cortona, which allowed the use and dissemination of this territory.

Sheer elegance, style and complexity, but also the power and sophistication and enormous potential of aging are the traits that define it better. Born with the 1992 vintage from grapes Syrah, it has now emerged as a pearl of the terroir of Cortona. The blend between Syrah and the Val di Chiana is a factor recently, but has now enabled us to offer high quality products; ongoing research and continuous experiments with Tenimenti Luigi d'Alessandro always protagonists and in the front row, did the rest. Here Syrah, famous French variety, fits very well with the warm and dry weather, but also with the humidity of the nearby Lake Trasimeno which allows to offer a "tear" that remains warm throughout the year.

The Syrah "Il Bosco" is born from the clay ground and a manual harvesting being performed in the second half of September; maceration on the skins for 15-20 days, then malolactic fermentation in oak barrels where it continues to evolve for 18-20 months. A process which makes it complex and elegant, that offers earthy shades and silky powder of coffee, tobacco, Tuscan cigars combined with notes of mint and herbs of the Mediterranean.
