Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru "Clos des Reas" from Domaine Michel Gros sees the light of day in one of the legendary places for wine. Vosne-Romanée is known worldwide as the birthplace of the greatest Pinot Noirs ever. This wonderful terroir contains 14 Climats classified as Premier Cru and six Grand Crus with mythical names: Romanée-Conti, Romanée Saint-Vivant, La Romanée, La Tâche, La Grande Rue, Richebourg, Échezeaux and Grands-Échezeaux. The wonderful east-facing exposure of the vineyard slopes and shallow soils composed of limestone and limestone-clay marls make this place unique within the Côte d'Or vineyard.

"Clos des Reas" Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru from Domaine Michel Gros is the fruit of the savoir-faire of many generations of winemakers. The Gros family has been cultivating these lands since the early 19th century and today manages an estate of 23 hectares divided into numerous parcels, located in some of the best areas of the Côte de Nuits and Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. The jewel of the property is definitely the Premier Cru "Clos des Reas," which is located in the southern part of the Vosne-Romanée commune and has been cultivated in monopole since its acquisition in 1860. The Pinot Noir vines are harvested by hand and the grapes are gently destemmed to preserve the integrity of the berries, which are then sent for fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with maceration on the skins and gentle pumping over. The wine matures for 18 months in 50% new French oak barrels and completes bottle aging before release.

Premier Cru "Clos des Reas" Domaine Michel Gros is a Vosne-Romanée of the highest level. The deep knowledge of the terroir, cultivated by the family for seven generations, has allowed them to interpret it in an authentic and elegant way, giving a label worthy of wine experts. In the glass it presents itself with a rather intense ruby red color. On the nose it gives ripe and fragrant aromas of small red berries, enhanced by delicate spicy nuances, hints of humus, and memories of noble woods. Velvety and harmonious, it has a very fine tannic texture and a rich aromatic facet, giving a fresh and persistent sip. A great Pinot Noir, which will reach full expressive maturity after a few years of bottle aging.
